Photo 1 - Loose Ties, The
Nightclub: Normally we don't have the
Loose Ties (LooseTies.com) volunteer-operated,
traveling model railroad display -- PLUS dancers,
shown in the same photograph. But in this photo we
do. There was a "Prom Night" dance Friday night
starting at 8 pm, and this photo shows some of the dancers,
with the train layout visible in the background. Photo 2 - Cindy
Williams: This next photo shows
visiting VIP and television star Cindy Williams, who played
Shirley on the TV show Laverne and Shirley.
Cindy insisted on having her photo taken with Sunbury's
well-known model railroading star , Al Bubb, who
is shown behind her. Photo 3
- Dancers: This photo shows some
dancers from the area, from left to right. Sitting
front: Allen "Cook" & Sharon Davis; Standing rear:
Lester & Laura Bussom, Cindy and Bill
Mahoney. Photo 4 -
Dancing: This photo shows another
part of the dance floor. The following info I got
2nd hand, so I hope that I'm not misleading you: The
couple in the right rear (red skirt) Lester & Laura
Bussom were selected the "Prom King & Queen", and the
couple on the left rear (gray dress) Keith & Cindy
Orndorf were selected the runner up couple. Photo 5 - Flame Thrower
video: This image is taken
from an MPG movie I took using my Sony still camera's "movie
mode" on Saturday night on the fairgrounds speedway.
They had what they call a "flame thrower exhibition", using
cars modified so they can shoot flames out their exhaust
pipes. I never knew that cars like this existed.
(It seems like this might be a useful feature to have, to
discourage tailgaters.) If you have a broadband
connection and can play an MPG movie, there are several
short clips in the Flamethrower
Directory ( (you
need Apple's free Quicktime Player ). Photo 6 - Dead
Van: This may end up being a
"obituary photo". It shows the Loose Ties van
(previously a Culligan water van). This van has been used to
transport all the bazillion pieces necessary to assemble the
modular railroad layout, to towns all over North Central
Pa. Unfortunately the van's motor apparently
died on the trip from Northumberland over to
Bloomsburg. This van had been
purchased, operated, and maintained, all at the personal
expense of the Loose Ties President Jeff Johnstonbaugh of
Northumberland. Unfortunately the cost to repair the
motor may exceed the value of the van. The engine
still runs, but it knocks and blows lots of blue
smoke. So if any of you know anyone who does really
inexpensive truck REPAIRS, we'd probably like to know their
names.
