1. Accessing The Council Members List

a--Go to the Yahoo Group's SeniorNetPrivate Listserver home page at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/seniornet-private

b--Click the "Sign In" link. (This may be located near the top of the page -- just to the right of the big letters "Yahoo Groups". Note Yahoo peridically changes its location.)

A box should pop up, asking for your username and password
. . . . . Username ______________
. . . . . Password _______________

c--Enter the username / password that you have been emailed as part of your Council membership

d--Click the "Files" link (This should be located in the menu running down the left edge of the page).
. . . . . The "Files" window will open.

f--You will probably see several folders. Look for the "Instructors & Coachs" folder with the latest date.

You should see the membership list in 2 versions:
  • A JPEG version for viewing
  • A PDF version for printing.
  • As of 5/5/04, there is just one html version. Plans are to add JPEG and PDF versions later.

Note 5/5/04 -- the rest of these instructions WILL NOT APPLY until the JPEG and PDF versions of the council members list are added

2. Viewing The JPEG List

You can view the JPEG list by just clicking on the link as usual. (You can use the right mouse and select "open in new window" if you want to keep the window with the list of maps.)

3. Printing The PDF List - Using Adobe Acrobat Reader

The PDF file should open in Acrobat Reader when you double click on the attachment.
Portable Document Format (PDF) is the open de facto standard for electronic document distribution worldwide. Adobe PDF is a universal file format that preserves all the fonts, formatting, graphics, and color of any source document, regardless of the application and platform used to create it. PDF files are compact and can be viewed and printed exactly as intended by anyone with free Adobe Acrobat® Reader® software.

But in some cases it may not. Then you may have to download the file to your hard drive, then start Acrobat Reader first ,
then use the "File" --> "open" command using Acrobat's menus.

Obtaining Acrobat Reader:

If you do not already have the FREE application Adobe Acrobat PDF Reader.
it is available at http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html

You may already have it on your hard drive.

Look for "acrobat".in your "programs" menu.

4. Signing Out

Please be sure and use the "sign out" link on the upper right when you are finished.

((This process I have set up, is a bad security practice, because I am giving you one of my Yahoo IDs. But since most of you don't have Yahoo IDs, this seems to be the easiest way to handle this.))

If you do have your own Yahoo ID, we can probably arrange it so you can use your own Yahoo ID to log in, and not have to remember another one.
