* Tue Sept 12, 5:30 to 7:30 pm - Computer Club - The Intel Mac

  • Rusty Clementoni from Apple Computer will demonstrate and discuss the new "Intel Mac", that can run both Windows and Macintosh operating systems, using Apple's new Boot Camp & other methods.
  • This means that you can start enjoying the legendary features of the Macintosh computers, that your kids have been telling you about for years, and also run the same Windows applications that the SeniorNet computers and all your friends and neighbors are using.

* Matt Hoppes and Evette Hill from ChiliTech will speak on several topics as follows:
  • Connections - Type of available internet connections and relative costs: dial up, telephone DSL, cable company broadband, Chilitech wireless, Chilitech DSL.
  • Security - protecting against viruses and spyware.
  • VOIP - Digital Voice Voice Over Internet Protocol (Vonage & similar)
  • Outlook Express - How to share address books between multiple accounts. (For multiple users on the same computer, you can share one address book, rather than duplicating all your addresses for the 2nd user.)
  • Repairs - A brief mention about what computer repairs Chilitech can do. (We don't think most of the SeniorNet people are even aware of this).
