MAP Fountain Springs is a small suburb between Ashland and Frackville. At night, to an "outsider", it may feel like you are in the south suburbs of Ashland. Directions -- Coming From Williamsport and the North Drive Time -- estimated 75 minutes from Williamsport From Williamsport, take Route 180 East to Route 80 east, and get off at "Exit #224 Rt 54 Danville/Turbotville". Follow Route 54 South thru the towns of Danville, Elysburg, until it intersects with Route 61at a little crossroads named Strong. Continue STRAIGHT and continue following Route 54 and it will bring you into the west end of Ashland at the top of a long hill, and you have rejoined Route 61. (Note that most road maps are very unclear in this area, but the Route 54 signs will "get you there".) ----------------- Go down the long hill through the center of Ashland on Ashland's main street. Route 61 makes a sharp RIGHT turn at the bottom of the hill. Continue following Route 61 as it leaves Ashland. After about two miles, you enter Fountain Springs. ----------------- In Fountain Springs, Route 61 makes a 90 degree LEFT turn, and starts up a long hill towards Frackville. Do NOT make this left turn. GO STRAIGHT. (I.e. do NOT follow Route 61 to the left, and do NOT go up the hill.) The sharp right turn onto Country Club Road is only about 50 yards past the Rt 61 intersection, so be careful you do not miss it. There is a small sign that says "Country Club Rd". Follow Country Club Road about 1/2 mile, and Fountain Springs Country Inn is on the left, identified by a sign. Directions -- Coming From The South on I-81 If coming from the south on I-81, get off at "Exit 124 Rt 61 Frackville". Follow Route 61 north through Frackville, heading towards Ashland. As you approach Fountain Springs, there is a long downhill grade, with a STOP SIGN where Route 61 makes a Right turn. (This is the ONLY stop sign on Rt 61 between Frackville and Ashland.) Do not make this right turn. TURN LEFT. (I.e. do NOT follow Route 61 to the right and do NOT proceed into Ashland.) ----------------- The sharp right turn onto Country Club Road is only about 50 yards past the Rt 61 intersection, so be careful you do not miss it.
